This training course has been designed for trainees who wish to or are required to develop the skills and knowledge needed to work in the hospitality related food service environment. This includes but is not limited to: Hotels, restaurants, cafes and catering companies. This program is suitable for the most basic level of competence required by any person in any hospitality related industry who directly handles, transports, stores or serves food and/ or beverages for human consumption.

Hospitality: Businesses such as restaurants, Cafes and hotels. Take away and fast food businesses may be classified retail or hospitality, depending on the food items being served (i.e. the amount of preparation)
Health: Businesses such as hospitals as well as community care (child care centres, aged care, nursing homes and meals on wheels)
Retail: Business such as supermarkets, convenience stores, grocers and delicatessens. Take away and fast food businesses may be classified retail or hospitality, depending on the food items being served (i.e. the amount of preparation)
Food Processing: Businesses such as food product manufacturers including flour mills, canneries, packaging companies, wholesale bakeries, bottlers, breweries and wineries.
Transport and distribution businesses would be allocated into the relevant sectors above in which they are contracted or employed.
