Developed in conjunction with hospitality industry experts, Prime Skills (RTO provider 21317) and The Gourmet Guardian, this Nationally Accredited training course is designed to further equip the employees that are responsible for supervising food safety within their business with the necessary information that they need for working with food industry.
This course is a more advanced course than the Level 1: Food Hygiene Course, and is a legal requirement in some states of Australia. This course includes an overview of the basics of food safety covered in the Level 1: Food Hygiene Course, as well as provide additional detailed information specific to the Food Safety Supervisor role. There are different industry sectors which are listed below, each industry has its own unit of competency for this course:

Hospitality: Businesses such as restaurants, Cafes and hotels. Take away and fast food businesses may be classified retail or hospitality, depending on the food items being served (i.e. the amount of preparation)
Health: Businesses such as hospitals as well as community care (child care centres, aged care, nursing homes and meals on wheels)
Food Processing: Businesses such as food product manufacturers including flour mills, canneries, packaging companies, wholesale bakeries, bottlers, breweries and wineries.
Transport and distribution businesses would be allocated into the relevant sectors above in which they are contracted or employed.
